Manipur continued to report zero COVID-19 death for the eight consecutive day on Thursday, while single-day spike in positive cases inched back to nine from six on Wednesday and four on Tuesday after it reported a drop to one positive case on March 19-20, official sources said.
According to the latest update by the state Health Services, the state's COVID-19 confirmed caselaod reached 1,37,066, while the death toll remained 2,120, as of Thursday. Consequently, the psoitivity rate moved to 0.6 per cent.
Of the new cases, Imphal West and Thoubal reported three cases each, while Churachandpur and Tamenglong reported one case each.
So far, 15.97,451 total tests for COVID-19 have been conducted across Manipur.

The state also recorded six new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,34,865. The recovery rate is 98.39 per cent. Manipur now has 81 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 109 Oxygen Cylinders and 24 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 27,72,260 (first dose: 15,30,513 second dose: 11,76.839 precautionary dose: 64,908).
The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 61.45 per cent and for the second dose is 50.27 per cent, it mentioned.
