Fire service has been trying to put out a wildfire at Heibok Ching under the jurisdiction of Singjamei police station in Imphal West district.
The wildfire which broke out on Tuesday at around 1 pm could not be put out till the filing of this report.
Reports said that the wildfire at Heibok Ching was controlled at around 7.30 pm by two fire tenders of Mayang Imphal Fire station and one fire tender of Imphal.
Another wildfire also broke out at Tairenpokpi hill under the jurisdiction of Lamshang Police station in Imphal west district on Tuesday at around 5 pm.
A fire service team reached the area but could not enter the spot as Kuki militants were seen on the hills. The fire service team could not move further than Phayeng and the wildfire could not be put out.
The fire at Tairenpokpi hill has been spreading and two fire tenders from Imphal Fire service headquarter rushed to the area but could not enter.
