The state-level Zomi Nam Ni Platinum Jubilee Cup 2023 was kicked off by YAS minister Govindas Konthoujam at Lamka Public Ground at Hiangtam Lamka in Churachandpur district on Tuesday.
At the event, minister Govindas spoke on ‘Manipur’s unity in diversity’ adding that he will soon commence the development of the various sporting infrastructures in the state including the Lamka Public Ground in order to produce more talent. He also mentioned the career opportunities of a sportsperson, especially footballers.
Wangkhei assembly constituency MLA Thangjam Arunkumar, Saikot MLA Paolienlal Haokip, Henglep MLA Letzamang Haokip, Thanlon MLA Vungzagin Valte and Zomi Council chairman John K Ngaihte attended the event.
In the inaugural match, SYMROPIA Churachandpur played against Kuki FA Kangpokpi in which both teams couldn’t score any goals against the other till the 90 minutes whistle.
