YWC Langthabal claims top spot in Khelo India Girls League

The win provides YWC Langthabal to snatch top spot from YWC Thambalkhong, who share 21 points each but the former had better goal aggregates of nine plus.

The Young Welfare Club, Langthabal raced on with 19-0 goals win over ICSA Irengbam in the Under 17 Khelo India Girls Football League 2023-24 played at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.

The win provides YWC Langthabal to snatch top spot from YWC Thambalkhong, who share 21 points each but the former had better goal aggregates of nine plus. However, the real test for supremacy will be seen on Wednesday as both will face each other on who takes the league title.

ICSA Irengbam had no reply to YWC Langthabal as the latter slammed home 12 goals in the first half and remaining in the latter minutes.

In another match, FC Imphal held ESU Wangkhei by 1-1 goals to share a point each. Th Reshma scored for FC Imphal in the 24th minute and Ch Christina fetched the equaliser for ESU in the 27th minute. FCI occupied third spot with 15 points while ESU is with 14 points from 9 matches.
