VSAI Thangmeiband thrashed MUSA Chekon by 5-0 goals in the 4th Sangai Trophy Veterans' Football Championship 2022 organised by United Veteran Football Association and played at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.

MUSA Chekon did bring up some challenges in the early part of the game but VSAI thumped down the attack with a goal from N Uttam Singh resulting from a counter attack in the 13th minute of play.

With MUSA having a tough time with lack of accuracy in their shot, VSAI makes further advances in the second half with N Uttam getting his second goal in 48th minute and later N Rajesh consolidated in the 49th minute to dominate the proceedings.

VSAI exploited the moment to the hilt as S Robinson made scoring look easy from a goalmouth shot in the 64th minute and later Ch Ananda brought up the winning goal in injury time of 70 plus 1st minute for the resounding victory.

In another match, UVSA FC beat AMBA Cheirap by 6-1 goals to collect full points. UVSA FC were more sophisticated in executing their shots as they struck at regular intervals to motivate themselves with Th Shachikanta scoring two goals while Ch Thoiba, Kh Manaoba, Sh Samarendra and Th Noren chipped in with a goal each for UVSA team.

The lone goal for AMBA was fetched by M Sanjitkumar, but of little help as they reeling with consecutive defeat in the meet. AMBA player U Manoraja got booked with a yellow card for reckless play.

Meanwhile, the All Manipur Football Association has appointed three more Referees to conduct the ongoing 4th Sangai Trophy Veteran Football.
