FC Imphal picked up full point thrashing CVFA Chajing by 5-0 goals in the 4th Sangai Trophy Veterans' Football Championship 2022 organised by United Veteran Football Association and played at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong on Monday.

FC Imphal went to work right from the first whistle when A Dilip delivered the goods with the opening goal in the 2nd minute of play.

Jostled by the goal, CVFA veterans engaged themselves with more vigour, seeking the equaliser but FC Imphal defence stood solid. With each passing minute, FC Imphal were always on the lookout for gaps, and it was Lamkholen who stole the show as he struck two quick goals in the 30th minute and 35th minute to post 3-0 goals in the first half.

CVFA finding the going tough, slipped further when Y Santosh conceded an own goal while trying to steer clear a ball in 51st minute and later it was left to M Bishorjit who slammed home the winning goal for FC Imphal in the 64th minute for the victory. CVFA players Th Baleshor and K Gitchandra got yellow card booking in the match for rough play.

In another match, SVA Khongjom Keirak beat AYVFA Yairipok by 3-1 goals. H Momocha, Ch Ingobi and Th Suranjit scored a goal each fpr SVA team while the lone goal for Yairipok team was made by O Pritamkumar. Three SVA players L Nillanjoy, Th Suranjit and S Marjit received yellow cards in the match.

In Tuesday's matches, KVFA Kakching will play Sirti Chandel at 2 pm while UVSA Chajing will take on TBSFA FC at 3.30 pm.
