United Veteran Sports Association (UVSA-A) Chajing lifted the champion title of the 1st Lourembam Anganghal Memorial Veterans' Football Tournament 2021 played at Lilong Arapti Ground, Imphal West.
In the final match, the host team UVSA (A) beat Veteran Sports Association of Imphal (VSAI) Thangmeiband by 3-2 goals and pocketed Rs 70,000 along with the champion trophy while VSAI had to contend with the runners up title, which was sponsored by Keirao legislator L. Rameshwor Meitei.
S Shanta makes the moves early scoring the opening goal for VSAI team in the 19 minute of play but later UVSA settled the scoreline with W Ajit fetching the equaliser in 20 minute to level 1-1 goal in the first half.
With the score even, UVSA makes frequent moves and reap the reward when Rumi scored in 39 minute but equally agile were VSAI who replied positively with Rajesh Meitei ruffling the net in 42 minute. But the host team, UVSA(A) made the dramatic turn when Manaoba gets the winning goal in 60 minute to romp home with the winning goal. VSAI player Shyamsunder got a yellow card in the match.
The best discipline team was bagged by KVFA Kakching while S. Shanta of VSAI got the first goal scorer prize of final match, W. Ajit of UVSA gets the top scorer prize, N Itocha of UVSA with best player title, best midfielder title for M. Bimolchandra of VSAI and best goalkeeper title for H. Noren of UVSA.
