China's weightlifter Zhihui Hou will be tested by anti-doping authorities at the Tokyo Olympics, two days after she bagged gold in the women's 49 kg weightlifting.
If Zhihui Hou fails the test, India's Mirabai Chanu, who won the silver medal by lifting a total lift of 202 kilogram, will be awarded gold.
Reports said that China's gold medal winner has been asked to stay in Tokyo to undergo a doping test by the authorities.
As per rules, if an athlete fails the doping test, then the athlete who finished below them would replace them in the medal position.
Zhihui Hou created a new Olympic record of 210 kg to bag gold on Saturday, while Manipur's weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu fetched India's first medal in Tokyo Olympic Games 2020 winning the silver medal in Women's 49 kg category at Tokyo International Forum.
