Brandon XI took home the trophy of the "1st State Level Tennis Ball Men's Cricket Tournament 2023" defeating the Maning Leikai United (MLU), Chajing by 39 runs in the final match which was played at the Lilong Chajing Cricket Ground in Imphal West.
After winning the toss, the Brandon XI chose to bat and put up 146 runs in 19.3 overs. However, MLU failed to pursue the target making just 110 runs in 19.3 overs for Brando XI to be declared the champion.
The man of the match award was bagged by Jemson of Brandon XI while the man of series award was bagged by Rohit of MLU.
Both received a cash prize of Rs. 1,000 and a trophy each while the winning team received a cash prize of Rs. 70,000 with a trophy and the runner up team received a cash prize of Rs. 40,000 and a trophy too.
Organised by the Chajing Welfare Club (CWC), the tournament began on February 13 with 25 teams playing on a league basis of four groups.
