Tekcham Polo Club (A) beat Ikop Ningthou Sagol Kangjei Club, Khangnabok by 11-3 goals to ride into the semi final of the second Thoubal District Polo Tournament 2022 organised by the Tekcham Polo Club under the aegis of MHR&PA at Tekcham Polo Ground, Thoubal.
In the last quarter final match, Tekcham Polo Club(B) beat Thoubal District Polo Association by a slender goal margin of 4-3, enroute to the semi final as well.
The host, Tekcham Polo Club (A), consisting of riders who has vast knowledge of the game and featuring in the top four stages of the game in all major tournament, rode into the game confidently with M. Kuber getting the opening goal while S Ranjit followed suit, hitting home the second goal in the first chukker.
The Ikop Ningthou team seemed to have less clue to the tactics and speedy movement of its opponent and had to play second fiddle in the first and second chukker without a goal. However for Tekcham Polo Club(A), team captain K. Jugindro had a scoring spree in the game as he struck three goals while M. Kuber supported him with a goal in the second chukker to dominate the game with 6-0 goals.
Tekcham Polo Club did further damage to Ikop Ningthou pride as the former push home four more goals with M. Abhigyan scoring two goals while M. Kuber and S. Ranjit pick up one goals against the lone goal from L. Bishal for Ikop Ningthou team.
Desperate in their effort, Ikop Ningthou freed themselves from Tekcham clutches in the fourth chukker with L. Bishal connecting a shot to the goal and I. Rahul also got the angle right to bring up another goal. However, the goal proved late as Tekcham PC added two more goals from M. Kuber and S. Sadananda to whistle away with the huge win.
Tekcham Polo Club(B) also stunned Thoubal Polo Club by 4-3 goals. The winning goals for Tekcham was made by O. Ningthemjao who struck three goals and skipper Ksh.Tombi Singh. As for the Thoubal team, Th. Kabita, O. Santosh and O. Inaobi fetch one goal each.
The semi final matches scheduled for tomorrow will have Samurou Polo Club taking on Tekcham Polo Club(A) in the first match while Tentha Polo Club will face Tekcham Polo Club(B)in the second ground.
