A 19-member Pencak Silat team left Imphal on Friday for the upcoming 11th Senior National Pencak Silat Championship 2023 to be held at Meenatai Thackeray Indoor Stadium, Nasik, Maharashtra from August 12-15.

The defending champion Manipur team is led by Team Coach Nawang Ngangom. Pencak Silat Association of Manipur, President L Shyamkumar Singh and Secretary L Ranjit Singh saw off the team and wished them the best in their performances.
The Manipur team will compete in Tanding and Seni events in various weight categories. Mention may be that Pencak Silat Association of Manipur will use the championship platform as a selection trial to pick up state players for the 37th National Games at Goa in November.
