TBSFA FC got the better of TRVSA Malom by 3-1 goals to garner full points in the 4th Sangai Trophy Veterans' Football Championship 2022 played at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.
The first half proved to be a lacklustre affair as both teams were rather engrossed to mid field tussle and hardly able to penetrate each other defences, to render goalless. However, TBSFA FC broke the deadlock in the second half as Ng Noren got through to push home the opening goal in the 39th minute and minutes later Md Chaoba consolidated in the 41st minute to enjoy the upper hand.
Downed by two goals, TRVSA regained their composure and re-worked their strategy and was able to get their first shy at the goal from N Sharat in the 45th minute, to trail by 1-2 goals. With competition stiffening up, TBSFA managed to pull off one lucky shot from O Inaocha in the 59th minute and held on till the final whistle for the victory on Thursday.
In the other match, UVSA Chajing blanked KVFA Kakching by 5-0 goals to collect full points. Goalless in the first half, UVSA breathed fire in the second half with K Upen, W Ajit scoring two goals each while N Itocha came up with one goal for the win. KVFA Kakching player N Jugeshwor was booked with a yellow card for rough tackle.
