SWC(A) Hiyanglam claimed the 21st Mini Boys State Level Sepak Takraw Championship 2022 organised by Social Welfare Club under AMSTA at Hiyanglam Makha Leikai.
The final match saw the host team SWC (A) Hiyanglam taking on tournament favourites PUC Kairang and the former managed to nail them by 2-1 game, to claim the champion title.
With huge crowd support backing the home team, SWC(A) Hiyanglam took the first set by 21-12 points. However in the second set, PUC Kairang surged back and took the game by 21-13 point to level 1-1, needing the deciding game, to chalk out the winner.
In the last set, both teams had a harrowing time, trying to outwit each other but the host team SWC had the last laugh as they overcame PUC team by 21-16 point, to lay their hand on the champion title.
Enroute to the final, SWC(A) Hiyanglam beat its sister concern SWC(B) by 23-21 and 21-18 points while PUC Kairang beat SWC Hiyanglam by 21-15 and 21-16 points.
In the league round of the 23rd Junior Girls, SAI RC(A) beat IMSUC Heingang by 21-15 and 21-11 points while SAI RC(B) beat PUC Kairang by 21-6 and 21-13 points.
