Sports Wrap: Melbash, Rohit win Boys Double State Open Badminton Championship

The U-15 category of Boys Double saw the partner of Melbash and Rohit of Imphal West defeating S. Nongdamba Singh of JDBA and Th. Sanju Singh of Imphal East by a score of 21-14 and 21-13 points for the coveted title.

L Melbash Singh and his partner S. Rohit Singh emerged champion of Boys Double U-15 in  the 65th State Open Badminton Championship 2021 organised by Manipur Badminton Association at Indoor Hall, DM College Campus. The U-15 category of Boys Double saw the partner of Melbash and Rohit of Imphal West defeating S. Nongdamba Singh of JDBA and Th. Sanju Singh of Imphal East by a score of 21-14 and 21-13 points for the coveted title. As for the Mixed Double event, the pair of K. Dingku Singh and Priya Konjengbam of BDBA had no qualm in beating H. Punshiba of Imphal West and Ngaivenkim Ngaite of CDBA by 21-7 and 21-10 points.

SSC Senapati lifts Junior Girls title of State Volleyball Championship 2021

SSC Senapati beat KAYO Khamenlok by 3-0 sets to claim the Champion title of the 41st Junior Girls State Level Volleyball Tournament 2021 organised by All Manipur Volleyball Association at Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak. In the final match, SSC Senapati had a smashing time winning it by 25-17 and 25-16 points against KAYO. However KAYO made a desperate attempt for a comeback in the third set but the SSC team had their way, taking it by 25-20 points to lay their hand on the title. The final of Sub Junior Boys saw NYVA Naorem getting the better of TRYVC by 3-1 sets to claim the Champion title. TRYVC looked positive in the beginning as they put up a spirited fight against the NYVA team and prevailed by 25-23 points. However, NYVA Naorem made a surge in the remaining sets, making some big smash to tamed TRYVC by 25-13, 25-15 and 25-18 points for the Champion title. Enroute to the final, NYVA beat HYDO by 25-18, 25-21 and 25-14 points while TRYVC beat UC by 25-22, 27-25 and 25-23 points. As for the Mini Boys final match, MRC beat USWC Uchiwa by 3-0 sets with 25-19, 25-17 and 25-16 points.

Classic Football Academy win Koijam Madhop Memorial tourney

Classic Football Academy, Chingmeirong drubbed YVO by 12-0 goals in the Koijam Madhop Memorial Second Division Football League Tournament 2020-21 played at YWC Ground, Thambalkhong. It was a complete rout for the YVO team as they Classic FA landed their attack at will, starting from 3 minute with Serto Worrilen Kom's four goals while Samson Keishing fetched three goals, Ganingam Molangmei, Angamba Konsam chipped in two goals and K Jeol Haokip got one goal. In another match, NIVSO beat UDO by 2-1 goals.

WAFA, KRYPSA, KALYC win 3rd Division

AFA Wangoi got the better of ESA Mayang Imphal by 2-1 goals in the 4th Mani Sharma Memorial 3rd Division Football League 2021 played at Pamyal Ground, Patsoi, Imphal West. Jackson and Montecarlo scored for Wangoi team while the lone goal for Mayang Imphal was fetched by W. Alex in the second half.
In the other matches, KRYPSA Naoremthong beat MSH Uripok by 5-0 goals with Md. Nawaz fetching two goals while M. Dev and M. Wanglen chip in with a goal each. MSH player Robinson conceded an own goal in the first half. KALYC Karam got the better of YAC Yurembam by 2-1 goals. KALYC struck the two goals through Kh. Chinglensana and W. Khwainganba while for YAC Yurembam team, N. Henary fetch the goal.

Khullel Hnatham, Chakpikarong, Tampi FC wins in 1st NCR Memorial Cup

Khullel Hnatham beat Toupokpi Salem by 5-4 goals during penalty shootout after a goaless outing in normal time play of the 1st PS Ningam, Chamshel & Richard Memorial Cup 2021 organised by NCR Families along with Nungpan Youth Club at Chakpikarong Ground, Chandel. Nicky, Augustin, Warkham, Zion and Chanson scored for Khullel Hnatham team while Angpu, TS Nunghrin, WS Larhring, PS Sunni found the mark for Tiupokpi team but HB Salem missed the target for the loss.
Chakpikarong YC also registered a 7-6 goals win against Ejunglol FC in similar fashion as both teams were locked with 1-1 goal draw during normal time play. Giadson scored the opening goal for Ejunglol team but Anigwar fetched the equaliser for Chakpikarong just before the final whistle. Both teams converted five goals each during kicks from penalty marks leading to the sudden death shootout. Chakpikarong players Aningwar and Beihung found the mark to perfection but for Ejunglol team Moses converted the kick but Anahring mistimed his shot for the defeat. Tampi FC also came up with a 2-0 goals win over Cherry Blossom FC with Nohrin and Itomna scoring the winning goals.

MVCA Transfer, Registration

The Manipur Veteran Cricket Association has informed to its affiliated units that the Renewal, Transfer and Registration of Players, both for old and new one, will be begin from December 8 onwards at the Association office at Sagolband Mantri Leikai, Imphal West from 2-4 pm daily till December 14, 2021.
