HKKSA drubbed SYDA by 5-2 goals in L (L) Memcha Memorial Super Division Football League 2022-23 organised by DFA Thoubal at Kodompokpi Sports Complex, Thoubal. M Deril struck twice while M Dilbagh, T Donaldo and H Surbhi fetched a goal each for HKKSA team while for SYDA, Hijam Ronaldo scored both the goals including a penalty in the second half. HKKSA player Rahul Okram and SYDA player A Warden got booked with yellow cards for dangerous play.
RFCC, Lashal Leimapokpam share points
RFCC Keinou held on Lashal Leimapokpam by 2-2 goals to share a point each in the 1st Late Th Ibopishak (Ningthouren) Singh Football League 2022-23 organised by DSA Bishnupur at Mini Stadium.
The Lashal Leimapokpam team started the game on a strong note as they took the early lead when H Jotin Singh scored in the 4th minute of play to dictate terms in the match. Making further forays in the second half, Lashal consolidated their position with Kh Rahul striking the second goal in the 46th minute to control the game with 2-0 goals lead.
However, RFCC made a late surge and started making frequent raids to its opponent goalmouth and got the breakthrough when L Ramdash Singh netted in the 70th minute to boost the morale of his teammates. With minute ticking away, RFCC's desperate attempt in the 90 plus 2nd minute fetched them rich dividends when S Simaren brought up the equaliser to level 2-2 goals and share a point each.
Two Lashal players Thaimei Maimuba Kabui, Kh Somorjit and RFCC player S Thoiba received yellow cards in the match.
YWC stun ICSA by 2-1 goals
Youth Welfare Club got the better of ICSA Irengbam by 2-1 goals in the opening match of A Shanta Meetei Memorial Senior Women's Football League 2022(Qualifying Round for IWL) sponsored by L Budhichandra Roy at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.
The unassuming ICSA team struck out of the blue in the 11th minute of play when O Babita Devi slipped through her kicks to the diving keeper for the lead.
Stunned by the goal, YWC team rushed up things and it was the effort of Namram Lamnganbi Chanu who came up with the equalising goal in the 33rd minute to level 1-1 goals. Energised by the goal, N Lamnganbi Chanu repeated her feat in the 43rd minute when she struck her second goal for the victory today.
