UVSA Lilong Chajing booked their semi final berth, beating FLAM Imphal by 2-0 goals in the 4th Sangai Trophy Veterans' Football Championshipplayed at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong on Tuesday.

The third quarter final match of the meet was dominated by the UVSA team as they dictate terms with an early goal from Kh Sanaton in the 10th minute of play. Although FLAM, spearheaded by former National players, had many chances in the game, they themselves flouted the opportunity, to dampen their spirit.

Approaching the second half with a cool and composed manner, UVSA increased the lead when W Ajit netted home the winning goal in the 62nd minute, to move into the semi finals. UVSA players L Ajit, Kh Devan and FLAM player L Gunabir received yellow cards in the match.

In the last quarter final, SVA Khongjom Keirak edged out VSAI Thangmeiband by 2-0 goals to sail into the semi final as well.

H Momocha struck both the goals in the 28th minute and injury time of 35 plus 2nd minute of first half play to hold their fort till the final whistle for the sweet victory. SVA Khongjom players H Momocha and Th Suranjit got booked with yellow cards for reckless fouls.

With the semi finalist team being identified, TBSFA  FC Tabungkhok will take on FC Imphal, Mayaikoibi in the first semi final on Wednesday while UVSA Lilong Chajing will face SVA Khongjom Keirak on Thursday at 3 pm at Artificial Turf. The final match is slated on June 19 at 2.30 pm.
