The Sports Authority of India, North East Regional Centre (SAI NERC), Imphal celebrated its 37th foundation day at SAI NERC Takyel on Friday.
The event was attended by Deputy Director, In-charge, SAI STC and Dronacharya awardee, L Ibomcha Singh; SAI NERC assistant director, Laijing L Maring; centre-in-charge of NCOE Imphal, T Nilamani Singh and in-charge, Sports science division and STC Utlou, Kh Lokendro Singh among others, stated a release.
It mentioned that SAI NERC Imphal was established on September 15, 1986. Attendees also paid floral tributes to Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, in whose honour the centre is christened as the Netaji Subash North East Regional Centre, it stated.
The gathering was enriched with eloquent speeches from dignitaries and coaches, reflecting on the 37-year journey of SAI NERC Imphal and its contributions to India’s sporting legacy, it added.
