Manipur recorded their second win, beating West Bengal by 3-2 goals, in the 27th Senior National Women's Football Championship 2022-23 played at Guru Nanak Dev University ground, Amritsar, Punjab.
West Bengal, once a formidable rival for Manipur, was pushed to the backfoot with international forward Ng. Bala Devi finding the net in the 17th minute for the lead.
With Manipur taking a tight grip on the match, S Lynda Kom made her move when she struck the second goal in the 40th minute and later came up with the winning goal in the 51st minute for the victory.
The two goals for West Bengal were scored by Mousumi Murmu in the 44th minute and Sangita Basfore in the 71th minute of the game.
Manipur will meet Railways in their next match on June 20 at 4:30 pm. It can be mentioned that Manipur had achieved 3-1 goals win over Maharashtra in their opening game.
