The Department of Sports, Manipur University has informed that the MU Inter College Weight Lifting (M&W) & Powerlifting (M&W) and N Surendra Singh Memorial Manipur University Inter College Best Physique (M) Competition 2023-24 which has been allotted to Thoubal College had been withdrawn for administrative reason and stand cancelled.
The Manipur University further said that the new venue and dates for commencement of the competition will be notified shortly.
In the meantime, the Department of Sports, MU has selected ten shuttlers for the East Zone Inter University Badminton (M&W) Tournament 2023-24 to be held at Dibrugarh University from December 12-15 and Nagaland University from November 21-24.
Players in the Men's category are Jomi Singam, H Rohenkumar, Ch Chitesh, T Bonson, Rk Ronald and E Nandaraj; in the reserve list are Chingaichand S and Ramananda Th
In the Women's list are Ksh Maheswwari Devi, Angita Naorem, Vilinda Huidrom and L Diana Devi. The lone reserve player is Th Monalisha.
The coaching programme for the selected players will start from November 12 onwards at Dr Kamal Indoor Stadium, MU Canchipur.
