Manipur Police Sports Club (B) lifted the Champion title beating MPSC(A) by 11-4 goals in the final of the 1st Imphal West District Polo Tournament 2021 organised by MHRPA at Awang Potshangbam Khullen Lampak.
Playing second fiddle to MPSC (A) in most of the tournament, the MPSC (B) came alive on Saturday taking on its much experienced opponent from the start, leaving no stone unturned to hammered home goals in every chukker.
MPSC (B) seasoned rider T Pradeepkumar Singh led from the front as he struck the opening goal and later O Suresh Singh hit home the second goal to gain 2-0 goals lead in the first chukker.
Making a dash in the second chukker, MPSC (B) leaped with T Pradeepkumar striking two goals while H Abung Khuman and O Suresh Singh fetched one goal each. However the MPSC (A) rider fought back and it was S Bimol Singh who struck the first goal and M Vivekananda followed suit, chiping home another goal to trail by 2-6 goals.
With two goals in their kitty, MPSC (A) galloped hard in the third chukker to match wit sister concern and it was the experience of S Bimol Singh that fetched the third goal while MPSC (B) failed to connect the ball to perfection.
But in the fourth it was altogether a different story as MPSC (B) tightened their grip on the reign with T Pradeepkumar Singh galloping to four goals while H Abung Khuman fetched one goal. The lone goal for MPSC (A) in the fourth chukker was scored by S Bimol Singh.
MPSC (B) collected Rs 30,000 along with the Champion trophy while MPSC (A) had to contend with Rs 20,000 along with runners up. MPSC (B) rider T Pradeepkumar Singh was feted for his seven goals in the final match.
