Manipur Police Sports Club (A) thrashed Meiraba Polo Club by 10-1 goals to ride into the semi final of the 1st Imphal West District Polo Tournament 2021 played organised by MHRPA at Awang Potshangbam Khullen Lampak.
Manipur Police riders dominated the entire proceedings of the match as they could connect the ball to their liking as compared to Meiraba team, who managed to open up in the fourth chukker with the lone goal.
M Vivekananda opened the goal account for Manipur Police in the first chukker and then S Bimol followed suit hitting home the second goal. As luck would have it, Meiraba rider conceded an own goal to MPSC kitty.
Making more ground in the second chukker, Police rider Y Binoy slammed home three goals while S Bimol fetched two goals to make 8-0 goals.
As the third chukker failed to provide any goals, Police added two more goals in the fourth chukker. The lone goal for Meiraba was scored by H Ratan. In the other match, Imphal Riding Club ousted MPSC(C) team by 4-3 goals to move into the semi final as well.
It was a closely fought match but Imphal Riding Club had the edge as they scored in all their chukker as Manipur Police failed to utilise the opportunity in the first chukker.
IRC rider L Rohit struck thrice while L Alex fetched one goal while for MPSC team, S Abungcha came good today to score all three goals.
