Mayai Lambi College beat Imphal College, Kwakeithel by 2-1 goals to lift the title of the A. Pratap Singh Memorial Manipur University Inter College Football Men’s Tournament 2023-24 hosted by Naorem Birahari College at Khundrakpam.
By virtue of the win, Mayai Lambi College will represent Manipur University in the All India Inter University (M) Football Tournament.
Imphal College looked set in the beginning as they made frequent inroads and managed to score the first goal via W Maipaksana in the 17th minute of the final match.
However, Mayai Lambi College, who were lying low in the first half, pushed their tempo to great effect and L Thomash fetched the equaliser in the 36th minute to level 1-1 goals. Making changes to their rank and shuffling of positions, Mayai Lambi College made the difference in the 51st minute with N Ronaldo getting the winning goal for the champion’s title.
Mayai Lambi College players N Rohit, LRamesh and Imphal College player H Manithoi got yellow cards in the match.
