Manipur’s own Hockey midfielder Sh Nilakanta Sharma and goalkeeper Bichu Devi Kharibam have been included in the Indian squad for the FIH Hockey Pro-League to be held in Belgium and England from May to June.
In a congratulatory note released by Posterior Hockey Academy Manipur (PHAM), it said it felt immensely proud that two of its former inmates had made the Institution and the country proud as a whole with their performances including the Olympics. The Academy wished them a fruitful tour.
Mention may be made that the FIH Hockey Pro-League at Antwerp, Belgium will be held from May 22-30 and that of London, England from June 9-12.
Shanglakpam Nilakanta Sharma is an Olympic Bronze medalist and Arjuna Awardee and hails from Kontha Ahallup, Imphal East while Bichu Devi Kharibam is an Asian Games Bronze medalist and is native of Charangpat Maning Leikai, Thoubal.
