Manipur women boxers gained ground winning six bouts in the 7th Elite National Women Championship held at GB University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
Out of the eight elite Manipur boxers, six made their impact to the second round with M Rosemary Chanu smashing down Yoogasri of Karnataka by 5-0 points in 50 kg bout while in the 66 kg bout, Th Alena outpunched Anusmaya of Kerala as Referee Stop Contest in the first round and Th Kunjarani also come up with similar win against Purnima Sahani of Bengal in 60 kg bout.
In the 48 kg bout, TS Marina got a walkover win against Kodi of Andhra Pradesh while in the 54 kg bout, S Bijeta beat Chayanki of Uttarakhand by 5-0 points and Sovi Jajo also floored Chingsanuani of Mizoram by 5-0 points in 57 kg bout.
However, in the 63 kg bout, N Bidiya lost out with 5-0 points.
