Imphal East District Polo Association rode away with the Champion title of the Women's Polo beating Imphal West District Polo Association by 7-3 goals

Imphal East District Polo Association clinched the Champion title of the Women's Polo beating Imphal West District Polo Association by 7-3 goals in the 2nd Manipur Olympic Games 2022 played at Hafta Kangjeibung.

Both teams made a late start as only one goal came about in the first half for the Imphal East rider Th Tanna Devi connecting to the goal for the lead.

However, things turned out to a different ball game in the third chukker as Imphal East riders made a menacing ride, with H Priya Devi hitting home three goals while skipper Kh Habe and Th Tanna making a goal each.

The fourth chukker proved no better for Imphal West rider as its rival Imphal East, digs further with Th Priya making one more goal to make it 7-0 goals.

Outplayed and burdened by huge goals, Imphal West riders made a desperate lunge with Neelu Rk, I Sangeeta and Victoria Oinam finally able to make a score for the silver medal.

MOA president Th Radheshyam Singh distributed medals to the teams.

Imphal West District FA emerge champion in Women's Football

Imphal West District FA claimed the Champion title of the Manipur Olympic Games 2022 Women's Football played at SAI Turf Ground, Takyelpat.

Proving a hard opponent in the game, Imphal East District FA meant business right from the start with S Rinaroy Devi beating the keeper to push home the opening goal in the 6th minute. However, Imphal West District raced up and made several shy of the goal, until Ch Binomala Devi got in right in the 23rd minute to level 1-1 goals in the first half.

Resuming the second half, Imphal West District FA did not have to wait long as goalscorer Ch Binomala Devi repeated her good show, banging home the winning goal in the 45th minute to emerge champion of the meet. Imphal East District had to contend with the Runners Up title, which is the silver medal. The third place will be played between the losing semi final at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.  

Meanwhile, Imphal West District FA will clash with Imphal East District  FA in the final to be played on Monday. In the semi final matches, Imphal West beat Senapati by 6-4 goals during a shoot from penalty mark after having 1-1 goals in normal time. On the other hand, Imphal East drubbed Kakching by 5-0 goals, to sail into the final.

For tennis, Imphal East District beat Imphal West District to bag the Tennis Team event title played at Officer's Club, Lamphelpat. The bronze medal was bagged by Kakching District.

As for archery, Imphal East District archers claimed 3 gold medals in the Senior Compound Men and Women event held at SAI Complex, Takyelpat.

In the Individual Olympic Round Compound Women, Ksh Malemnganbi of Imphal East took the gold while Th Senyai of Imphal East and M Rupan of Imphal West took the silver and bronze medals.

The other gold medal winners for Imphal East are Sh Ramakanta in Compound Men and Sh Ramakanta and Th Senyai in Compound Mix Team.

The Indian Round Mix Team gold was won by Thoubal District with Th Heller and W Maleshori while Imphal East and Imphal West archers settled for the silver and bronze medals.

As for Equestrian, N Luxmi Devi of Imphal East bagged the Show Jumping Women event held at Mapal Kangjeibung. Neelu Rajkumari of Imphal West and Thoudam Tanna Devi of Imphal collect the silver and bronze medals.

Under Cycling, Imphal West district cyclists made a clean sweep of the gold medals, winning five, in the Track Cycling event held at Cycle Velodrome, Khuman Lampak.

The gold medal winners are K Runabas in 4 km Individual Pursuit Men, N Biseshori in 3 km Individual Pursuit Women, Th Chinglensana in 1 km in Sprint Men, Y Thaja in 1 km Sprint Women and K Runabas in 7 km in Scratch Race Men.

For hockey, Imphal East District blanked Thoubal District by 10-0 goals in the Women hockey played at Hockey Stadium, Khuman Lampak. Imphal East dominated the proceedings with 3-0 goals in first quarter, 4-0 goals, 1-0 goals and 2-0 goals in fourth quarter for the victory. In the Men's category, Thoubal District thrashed Jiribam District by 6-0 goals.
