Thotmachan Awungshi Zimik, who represented Team Manipur and won gold in mountain bike cycling event in the recently concluded Northeast Olympic Games 2022 in Shillong, is now gearing up to compete in the upcoming Nagaland's Hornbill Mountain Bike Festival 2022.
Talking about the upcoming Hornbill Mountain Bike Festival exclusively with the Imphal Free Press on Friday evening, Thotmachan said that he was undergoing rigorous preparation to make himself fit and ready for the upcoming cycling events in addition to the Hornbill Mountain Bike Festival.
"I am all set to compete in the Hornbill Mountain Bike Festival," Thotmachan, son of Yurthing Awungshi Zimik of Phalee village in Ukhrul district, said.
The Hornbill Mountain Bike Festival will be organised by the Nagaland Cycling Association (NCA) at Kisama on December 3 and 4, 2022.
Thotmachan won gold in the junior cycling (MTB-XC) event held in Shillong on November 11. he also rides a BMX cycle at his village hill slope. He said he had begun the preparations in Imphal prior to the NE Olympic Games.
