Manipur Hockey: Young Pioneer in U-15, Unacco School in U-17 emerge winners

Young Pioneer's School in U-15 and Unacco School in U-17 will represent Manipur in the JN National Level Hockey Tournament.

Young Pioneer's School, Imphal East pulled off 5-4 goals win against Unacco School, Imphal West during penalty stroke to emerged winner of the 39th Nehru Junior(U-15 Years) Boys State Level Hockey Tournament 2022 organised by YAS Manipur at Hockey Stadium, Khuman Lampak.

The U-15 final match was a keenly contested game and both teams managed to hold 3-3 goals each in the fourth quarter, needing a penalty stroke to decide the match outcome. For the Young Pioneer team, W Derish and skipper N.Ronin converted the stroke to perfection while for Unacco School, only P.Jakson found the gap to the goal.

As for the 50th Nehru Junior U-17 Boys category, Unacco School, Imphal West beat Thaimei Guiganpou English School, Bishnupur by 5-3 goals to claim the top spot. Sh.Borish and Suresh Sharma scored two goals each while Nelson Y fetched one goal for Unacco School. The three goals for Bishnupur were by W.Rohit, Th.Rohit and L.Pritam.
