L Teshamran Dangshawa was named the winner of the sub-junior (14-18 years, -44 KG girls) category in 11th National Vovinam Championship, 2022 held at KD Singh Babu Stadium, Hazratganj, Lucknow (UP) from September 22 to September 25.
A release stated that in the Junior category of 48 kg girls, L Teshamran Dangshawa from Waksu Village was named the winner while Makunga Lydia from Minou village secured the runners up. It added that both Teshamran Dangshawa, studying in class IX and Makunga Lydia studying in class X are students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), Langol, Machi Block in Tengnoupal district.
In the championship, Manipur secured Team Champions Title decorated with 25 Gold, 9 Silver and 10 Bronze medals followed by Assam as runners up while the host UP secured the second runners up, it informed. The championship was participated by players from 23 states of India, it mentioned.
KGBV Langol extended appreciation to the Vovinam crew members for the big accomplishment, it added.
