Manipur boys win gold medal in National Kung Fu Championship 2022

Manipur boys Shimayon Ningshen and Themreichan Khansu clinched gold medal in a highly competitive 7th national kung fu championship 2022 event held in Gujarat.

Manipur boys Shimayon Ningshen and Themreichan Khansu clinched gold medal in a highly competitive 7th national kung fu championship 2022 event held in Gujarat. They won gold in open Taolu and under 19 full contact in 50-55 kg category respectively. 

The event was organised by Kung Fu Sports Committee, Gujarat and supported by Buddhist Kung Fu Federation of India.

Participants competed in eight sports disciplines namely Taichi, Sanda, Tao-Lu, Tuei-Shu, Suijiao, Wing-Chun, Chi-Gong and Tong-Zi-Gong. 

Speaking to the Imphal Free Press on Friday, Master Shimayon Ningshen, who is currently training Bollywood celebrities and his martial arts academy students in Mumbai, said that his student Themreichan Khansu clinched gold medal in under-19 Full contact in 50-55 kg categories. "Khansu is a dedicated and hard working student who wants to develop and improve his performance."

The 7th National Kung fu Championships 2022 event was held in Gujarat from 25-27 November last.
Tamreichan Khansu,18, son of Jacob Khansu is a resident of Chingjaroi khullen village in Manipur's remote Ukhrul district. 

The 18-year old had won four gold medals in different competitions held this year.

In the 14th All Mumbai Suburban Wushu Championships 2022, he secured gold and was also adjudged "best fighter."

He also participated in 20th International Sports Jeet Kune Do Championship 2022 and 5th National Level Ancient Martial Arts All Styles Martial Championship 2022. In both event he  clinched gold medals.

Shimayon Ningshen,who is a five dan black best was a 17 times gold medallist.

Born to late Ringai  Ningshen, he was a resident of east Tusom village under Phungyar sub-division in Manipur's kamjong district.

So far martial arts passionate Ningshen had won gold medals 17 times in his professional career. He was declared  best national fighters three times; one time best discipline player, bagged silver medals five times and bronze medals six times.

He secured the medals and titles during the various international, national and state level competitions. 

Ningshen earned his five dan black belt title from Jeet Kune Do Federation of India. 

Currently he is training students and bollywood celebrities at his martial arts academy in India's financial capital Mumbai.
