Manipur posted a 7-wicket win over Pondicherry in the BCCI Women's Under 15 One -ay Trophy 2023-24 played at Karnataka State Cricket Association ground.
Electing to field first after winning the toss, Manipur restricted Pondicherry to 179 runs for 6 wickets from 35 overs. Pondicherry lost early wickets but regained their posture after 20 overs for the respectable total with Dhanasri Jayakumar top scoring with 28 runs while skipper Anjana got 27 runs.
Gayatri with 15 runs and M Catherin with 19 runs remain not out in their innings. Manipur bowler Wakita, Thoithoi and Sheikh Neha took 2 wickets each.
Chasing the target, Sheikh Neha pushed Manipur to a well-deserved victory as she struck an unbeaten 84 runs off 93 balls while skipper Barkhatun made 56 runs, to surpass the target in 31.3 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Pondicherry bowler Haririya claimed 2 wickets.
