Local club Twilang Area Sporting Association (TASA), under the watchful eyes of former ISL player, Boithang Haokip, edged past MLS team KLASA Keinou in the first quarter-finals match on Thursday to cruise through to the semi-finals in ongoing Len and Sang Trophy 2022 at Brig. M. Thomas ground Kangpokpi.
The Sadar Hills 1st Division District Football League runner-up, TASA defeated the MLS team 3-2 in an action-packed game.
Kamgousei (14'), Vumminlen (53') and Khangam (54') scored for TASA while Laisharam (75') and Dhanachandra (77') scored for Keinou's side.
In the second quarter-finals match, Kuki Sporting Club (KSC) had a narrow 1-0 win over Satkhohen and Sumkhomang Memorial Team of N. Songlun to book a semi-finals berth.
The winning goal for KSC was scored by Seineo in the 74th minute.
On Friday, Sagolband United and Kuki Football Academy Junior Team will play in the third quarter-finals match while Symropia FC Churachandpur will clash with YOSC Khurai in the fourth quarter-finals match.
