KRFC Sagang, LYCC Chandel, SSU Singjamei earn full points in 63rd CC Meet

The 63rd Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Invitation Football Tournament 2021-22 was organised by AMFA at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.

KRFC Sagang proved their worth by beating WAFA Wangoi by 2-1 goals in the 63rd Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Invitation Football Tournament 2021-22 organised by AMFA at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.

The match proved to be a hotly contested game as neither of the teams knew each other's strength well and it was all out in attack from the very first whistle. KRFC team got the break within 5 minute of play when ST Thangboi slammed home the opening goal for the lead.

With no let up from the KRFC team, they consolidated in the 12 minute of play with Singte George netted home the second goal to enjoy the upper hand. However WAFA Wangoi continued to work their way and finally got rewarded when W.Tejkumar found the opening in 15 minute of play, which turned out to be their only goal as the latter minutes failed to produce any more goals.

WAFA player Md.Esha and KRFC player Kingrengsang got yellow cards from referee Ph.Lanthoiba for rough play.

In another match, LYCC Chandel got the better of KYVO Bishnupur by 3-2 goals to collect a full point. Both teams took their time in the match as neither could make any breakthrough to the game until M.Hemas came up with the opening goal for the KYVO team in 42 minute to gain the lead. However LYCC team catches up in the second half with Nicky Tonsing Anal level the scoreline when he push home the equaliser in 62 minute.

As competition hots up for the teams, KYVO made further inroads when M.Naresh Meitei scored the second goal in 72 minute to regain the lead. But the game was far from over as LYCC re-generates their energy with Chara Mongampha Moyon bringing up the equaliser in 76 minute and later Tesong Daimond Monsang came up with the winning goal in 78 minute.

KYVO players Chingkheinganba, Maheshchand and LYCC players Nicky Tonsing Anal, Chara Mongampha Moyon received a yellow cards for dangerous play from L.Priyobrata.

The last match of the day saw SSU Singjamei thrashed TRUPGU Nambol by 5-2 goals. It was clearly SSU team all day as they dominated the proceedings with two goals lead from the first half itself with A.Nanao fetching the opening goal in 10 minute and later L.Roshan getting the second goal in 28 minute.

SSU continued their tirade in the second half as well with Md Arif scoring the third goal in 50 minute and Y.Sushilkumar strikes home the fourth goal in 64 minute to tighten their grip in the match.

However TRUPGU who seems to be having a bad day, brightens up when Ng.Rakesh quickfired two goals in 71 minute and 82 minute to bring a ray of hope. But their joy was short lived as SSU once again thundered with Y.Sushilkumar driving home the winning goal in 81 minute for the win.
SSU player Th.Premjit and TRUGPU player A.Jameson got booked with yellow cards from referee T.Ranjita Devi.

In tomorrow's matches, TRAU FC will meet Oriental Club at 10 am while KLASA FC will face NACO Nambul Mapal at 12.15 pm and Mao FC to play DFA Moreh at 2.15 pm.
