KLASA Keinou stung hard, beating North Eastern Sporting Union (NESU), Porompat by 2-0 goals in the Khumukcham Ingocha Memorial 15th Manipur State League 2022 which resumed at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.
The defending champion, KLASA Keinou showed little mercy for NESU as they downrightly began to make raids to the latter goalmouth. With NESU having less experience in the league, they continued to struggle to give away their defence in the 18th minute of play when midfielder Khundom Lucky Singh edged past the goalkeeper to bring up the opening goal.
NESU tried to lift their game in the second half, but the young KLASA players made matters worse for them with speed and quick to latch on any loose opportunity. With the game nearing its end, KLASA Keinou sprang another surprise when substitute midfielder Th Manichand Singh netted home the winning goal in the 90 plus one minute for the victory. NESU player N Abhinash got a yellow card in the match.
In another match, Nambul Mapal Athletic and Cultural Organisation (NACO) blanked second rung TRAU FC team by 2-0 goals. Ng Rakesh struck the opening goal in the 29nd minute and Suraj Singh Yumnam consolidated in the 88th minute for the comfortable win. NACO player Ch Kenson was reprimanded with a yellow card for reckless foul.
