KLASA FC beat TRAU 4- 2 in penalty shootout

Shillong Lajong FC and KLASA FC will meet on December 4 for the final match.

In the semi final match played between the two leading Manipur based KLASA FC and TRAU FC, the former had  booked the final with Shillong Lajong FC as it thrashed TRAU in the penalty shootout with 4-2.

With TRAU FC jersey no 4 awarded red card in the 30th minute of the first half, the Tiddim Road Athletic Union which were reduced to 10 players quickly change its tactical and put up a strong defence and made volley of attacks against the opponent in their bid to ensure that no advantage is taken because of the elimination of one key defender. 

TRAU FC’s change of game plan paid off as it managed to checkmate their opponent’s every move till the last moment as both team scores remained nil till the timeout. 

The emotion on the pitch climaxed with the announcement of a penalty shootout as both teams prepared to seal the final. 

Euphoria surrounding the shootout was evident as the divided fans cheered for their favourite team.

In the match on Wednesday, Shillong Lajong FC thrashed AIM 5-1. 

The two semi final winners namely Shillong Lajong FC and KLASA FC will meet on December 4 for the final match.

The ongoing 2021 Shirui Lily Cup which is a national level tournament is organised by Ukhrul District Sports Association under the banner of Manipur Sports Association.
