Nanglhun veng entered the final of Under-15 football and the veteran team entered the semi-final round as both veteran and the main team of Jonlhing veng also sailed through to the semifinals round in the ongoing 18th Kangpokpi Inter Ward Tournament 2022.
In the under-15 first semifinal match, Nanglhun veng had an easy win with 3-1 over Ahsijolneng veng to sail through the final. Letgoumang (20th), Mangpilun (52nd), and Lengunhao (58th) scored for the Nanglhun side while Haotinkhup scored the lone goal of Ahsijolneng veng in the 38th minute.
In the veteran first quarterfinal match, Jonlhing Veng edged past Kilkhong Veng 2-0 to book a berth in the semifinal round as Paokhomang alias Paaji (12th) and Tonghen (35th) scored the winning goals despite the absence of their main striker Len Lhouvum on medical ground.
In the second veteran quarterfinal match, Nanglhun veng overwhelmed contender Ngambom veng 4-2 via tie break after the match ended in a goalless draw during the normal time.
In the first quarterfinal match of the main football, Jonlhing Veng had a narrow 3-2 win over Ngambom Veng to book a berth in the semifinal round. Ngambom Veng had an early lead through Seibem (4th), and Jangkholen (7th) goals in the first half but Jonlhing Veng had a better come back in the second half to found the equalizer through Ruata (49th), and Nelson (54th) goals before Nelson complete his brace after scoring the winning goal in the 58th minute.
In the second quarterfinal match, defending champion Vengthah had a narrow 0-1 loss to Kholmun veng despite a brilliant performance while paving a way for Kholmun veng in the semifinal round. The lone winning goal for Kholmun veng was scored by Letkhanlal in the 47th minute.
On Wednesday, the second semi-final match of Under-15 football will be played between Enjakhup veng and Dr GG Crozier Mission compound at 8:00 AM.
In veteran football, Vengthah will play Sipinthei veng in the third quarterfinal match while Chengjapao Veng will play Phungtin veng in the last quarterfinal match.
In main football, Enjakhup veng will play Phungtin Veng in the third quarterfinal match while Chengjapao Veng will play Sipinthei veng in the last quarterfinal match.
