Ahsijolneng veng sailed through to the semi-final round in under-15 football as it had an easy 4-1 win over Ngambom veng this morning in the ongoing 18th Kangpokpi Inter Ward Tournament 2022 at Brigadier M Thomas Gound.
Haotinkhup shined in Ahsijolneng's quarterfinal win as he scored a hat-trick in the 9th, 27th, and 52nd minutes while his teammate Paoboilal added another goal in the 19th minute to seal a 4-1 victory over Ngambom veng who managed to pull back a goa through Stephen in the 38th minute.
In women's volleyball, Moltinchan (A) defeated Lamdil veng 3-0( 21-8, 21-9, 21-6) to enter into the quarterfinals round.
In men's volleyball, Chengjapao veng defeated Nanglhun veng 3-1 (25-22, 25-23, 22-25, 25-24) to lock horns with Dr. GG. Crozier Mission Compound in the first semi-final round on January 27.
In the second match, Tintong veng defeated Vengthah 3-0(25-18, 25-16, 25-21) to lock horns with either Jonlhing veng or Ngambom veng in the second semi-final round on January 28.
In veteran football, Chengjapao Veng edged past Moltinchan Veng 6-2. Chengjapao's playmaker Limminthang found an early equalizer in the 7th minute after Moltinchan's striker Paotinmang's early 3rd-minute goal and before his teammates began pumped in goals successively through Lamtinkhup (10th), Thangboi (12th, 46th), and Nehminlun (19th, 20th) while Moltinchan veng striker Paotinmang pulled back another goal in the 50th minute.
The second veteran match ended in favour of Jonlhing veng as the opponent team Kholmun veng failed to turn up for the match owing to a burial ceremony in their locality.
In the main football, Jonlhing veng had a narrow 1-0 win over Nanglhun veng through James early goal in the 3rd minute while in the second match Khupting veng had a similar 1-0 narrow win over Kilkhong veng through Satgoulal's 21st-minute goal.
Tomorrow, Moltinchan's under-15 will play Nanglhun veng in the second quarterfinals match at 8:00 am.
In women's volleyball, Kholmun veng will play Ahsijolneng Veng in the third quarterfinal match while Ngambom Veng B team will play Moltinchan Veng A team in the fourth quarterfinal match.
In men's volleyball, Jonlhing Veng will play Ngambom Veng in the last quarterfinals match.
In veteran football, Sipinthei veng will play Lamdil veng in the first match while Enjakhup veng will play Vengthah in the third match.
In main football, Lamdil veng will play Moltinchan Veng in the second match and Tintong Veng will play Enjakhup veng in the fourth match.
