Champ Khagempalli beat YUCC Kwakeithel by 34 runs in the 9th T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2022 played at Oriental College & Model Higher Secondary School Ground, Imphal West.
Winning the toss, Mujibur Rahaman spearheaded Champ Khagempalli inning, making 58 runs from 52 balls while Alai got 25 runs from 21 deliveries to help the team post 126 runs for 8 wickets from 20 overs. Other Champ batsmen failed to cross the double figure mark.
YUCC Kwakeithel bowler Manikumar bagged 2 wickets while Somorjit, Himat, Tomba got 1 wickets each.
In reply, YUCC batsmans failed to negotiate the medium pace bowling attack of Champ as the former could make 92 runs for 8 wickets from 20 overs. Sibananda made 17 runs while Basanta got 14 runs and Devdutta contributed 12 runs.
Mujibur and Sanjoy proved to be the most successful bowlers for Champ as they claimed 3 wickets each while Narjeet fetched 1 wicket. Mujibur Rahaman was declared the Man of the Match for his 58 runs and 3 wickets.
