India pull solitary goal win against Myanmar in Tri National Football Tournament 2023

India beat Myanmar by a solitary goal in the opening match of the Hero Tri Nation International Football Tournament 2023 held at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.

The host nation had umpteen chances to gain the early lead but star forward and skipper Sunil Chettry failed to capitalise on three occasions. But the long wait ended for India, when Anirudh Thapa provided the lead in added time of 45+1 minute, which turned out to be the winning goal as well.

Myanmar in their next match will meet Kyrgyz Republic on March 25 at 6 pm while India will face Kyrgyz Republic in the last match of the tournament on March 28.

NESU Porompat & Poloi FC stuns opponents in Reliance Foundation League 2023

North Eastern Sporting Union, Porompat stuns Classic Football Academy, Chingmeirong by a solitary goal in the Reliance Foundation Development League 2023(Regional Qualifiers-Manipur) played at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.

North Eastern SU team who is trying to regain its position in the league cut short the good run of Classic FA in the second half play when midfielder Yumnam Monish Singh pumped in the all important goal in 49 minute to hold tight till the end.

North Eastern players N.Raju and goalscorer Y.Monish received yellow cards in the match.

In another match, Poloi Football Club, Chingarel Tezpur came from behind to beat Pehlum Lamhil Lawm by 4-3 goals.

Pehlum Lamhil enjoyed the early minutes of the game with forward Jangminlen Haokip fetching the opening goal in 8 minute. However Poloi FC rallied hard for the equaliser and managed to trim down the scoreline from forward S.Santosh Meitei in 18 minute.

As competition hots up, Pehlum Lamhil midfielder Thanglenmang Haokip falls snubbed past the defender to slot home the second goal in 24 minute to gain a 2-1 goals lead. The second half witnessed a hard stance by the teams and it was Poloi FC who managed to bang home the equaliser from M.Minaketan in 57 minute.

But Pehlum Lamhil strikes back in the very next minute with Ngamtinsei providing the lead in 58 minute. Later on Poloi FC hardly had any breathing time searching for the equaliser and managed to get it in 63 minute from Mohammad Jayet and later on forward Md.Nawaz Sharif delivered the winning goal in 81 minute. Pehlum Lamhil player Jangminlal Haokip got a yellow card in the match.
