X-Polo Club will face Chingkheihunba Polo Club (A) in the final of the 2nd Imphal East district Polo Tournament 2022 on Wednesday at Yairipok Top Chingtha and Ningthounai Kangjeibung Lampak.

In the first semi final match, X-Polo Club and Chingkheihunba Polo Club (B) had a stressful ride as none of the riders had a good connection to the ball but X-Polo Club rider, makes amend hitting home the opening goal in fifth minute of play in the first chukker.

The second chukker proved more fruitful for the teams as X-Polo rider and skipper P Ojit struck two quick goals to make a leap in the game. However, Chingkheihunba Polo Club retaliated with Th Santosh and M Chaoba, fetching a goal each to stake a say in the match.

Sure enough, Chingkheihunba riders tightened their grip and galloped back confidently in the third chukker with Th Manisana fetching the equaliser and then K Yaikhamba strucked the leading goal to take 4-3 goals lead.

Sensing the urgency and need of a goal in the final chukker, X-Polo Club rider pounced on every opportunity and they delivered with L Atangba getting two goals while Th Jacob and skipper P Ojit pushed home one goal each for the massive lead. A desperate effort from Chingkheihunba rider K Yaikhamba fetched home a lone goal, but proved not enough as they bowed out with 7-5 goals defeat.  

The second semi final saw, Chingkheihunba Polo Club (A) beat Ibudhou Marjing Khubam Kanba Lup PC by 10-2 goals. L Thomson proved more deadly as he strikes four goals for Chingkheihunba PC (A) team while teammate O Rozer fetched three goals, Th Kaoba scored two goals and H Muhindro chip in with a goal.

The two goals for Ibudhou Marjing team was fetched by Rajan in the third chukker.
