The Imphal East District Football Association has approved the permanent affiliation of five football clubs during the annual general body meeting held at XI Star Sporting Union complex, Akhampat on Sunday.
The five clubs taken under its fold are FC Imphal City-Nandeibam Leikai, Classic Football Academy -Chingmeirong, Koirengei Youth Football Association-Koirengei, Hee Yai Football Academy- Luwangsangbam and Tulihal Educated Association, Tulihal.
The AGM also approved to admit six individuals as life members of the Imphal East District Football Association. They are Dr Moirangthem Manimohon, Wahengbam Manglem Singh, Thongam Rajeshwor Singh, Beishamayum Radhachoron Singh, Lairiyengbam Sobhachandra Singh and Thokchom Surjit Singh.
Furthermore, it also resolved to allow the appointment of four more Life Members to IEDFA.
As for the pending election process of IEDFA, the AGM decided to postpone the election of new office bearers and Executive Council Members for the term 2021-2025, following the ruling of the High Court of Manipur.
In such circumstances, the present office bearers will continue to run the affairs of IEDFA until new office bearers are elected.
