Young Pioneer Football Club (YPFC) organised a football tournament at Kangmong Manglak ground on Sunday for players below 40 kg.
Teams from nearby villages including Heigrujam FC, Awangjiri FC, KLKL and YPFC’s A,B,C Team etc. participated in the competition, stated a release.
Speaking on the sidelines, YPFC advisor, Maisnam Joykumar Luwang encouraged the students and youths of the violence-hit state, asserting that they must not back down and continue their education, it said.
He further emphasised the significance of games and sports in school education, asserting that sports and games are essential in improving the physical and mental well-being of the students, it added. Joykumar also extended monetary assistance for organising the tournament, it mentioned.
