AMFA Cup team Kuki Sporting Club (KSC) and MSL team Sagolband United will clash on Tuesday in the finale of the Len and Sang Trophy 2022 at Brig M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi district headquarters after beating their respective opponents on Monday.
A narrowed 1-0 win over Churachandpur's Symropia Football Club in the first semi-finals match on Monday earned the KSC a final berth to set the stage with Sagolband United who defeated Twilang Area Sporting Association (TASA) 2-1 in the second semi-finals.
KSC's Lunminthang scored the lone winning goal for KSC in the 75th minute.
In the action-packed second semi-finals match between TASA and Sagolband United, Bhagirath was quick enough to find an early opener in the 2nd-minute which was followed by multiple on-target shots giving intense pressure to the local club with former ISL player Subhash as the playmaker for Sagolband United.
In the last few minutes of the second half, Subhash found the second goal for the MSL team in the 87th minute and TASA managed to pull back a goal through Peter Minthang in the 88th minute but it was already too late for the team to find the equalizer.
The closing ceremony of the month-long mega football tournament will begin 12 noon.
