Imphal East fencers were unstoppable as they continued to shine, fetching fifteen gold medals on day three of the 19th Governor's Cup State Level Fencing Championship 2023 held at Indoor Stadium, SAI Complex, Takyelpat.
Senior fencers of Imphal East, S Tuphan and N Mina Devi ruled with golds in Men and Women Foil events beating their own compatriots to show their dominance in the meet.
The Cadet Girls and Boys, Sub-Junior Boys and Mini Boys gold medals in the Foil event were also grabbed by the Imphal East.
Imphal West fencer Rashina N shone picking up two golds in Mini Girls and Sub-Junior Girls Foil events.
In the Epee events comprising Senior, Junior, Cadet, Sub-Junior and Mini categories, Imphal East fencers went on to collect five more gold medals while fencers from Thoubal, Imphal West and Ukhrul claimed one gold medal each.
As for the Sabre event, fencers from Senapati did exceedingly well claiming three gold medals in Mini Boys, Sub-Junior Girls and Cadet Boys. Imphal East fencer came up with four gold medals Mini Girls, Sub-Junior Girls, Cadet Girls and Senior Women.
Imphal West fencer Ph Baby picked up a gold medal in the Junior Girls Sabre event of the day.
