YSCT-C on Saturday defeated Damjol by three goals to one to be crowned the champion (football) of the 35th General Tournament of the Eastern Lamkang Naga Sporting Association (ELNSA) at Riindamkhuw Village in Chandel district.
Organised by ELNSA, the tournament began on April 24 and ended on Saturday (April 29).
In the final match of football between Damjol and YSCT-C, the teams were unable to hit the back of the net in the first half, thus ending in a goalless draw.
However, in the second half, YSCT-C scored three goals in a span of 11 minutes through J. Jasper (41st), Sk. Stallon (48th) and Sr. Darpol (52nd). Damjol were also able to pull one back in the 54th minute through J. Rengringston but it was not enough as YSCT-C were crowned the champion.
J Albert of Damjol and Th. Rengringshel and J. Joyfull of YSCT-C were cautioned for foul play.
