Makhao Area Youth Welfare Organization (MAYWO) football playground was inaugurated on Monday at M Bongmol Village, Sangaikot block, Churachandpur by MLA of Singngat assembly constituency Ginsuanhau Zou.
The playground was inaugurated in the presence of ADGP of Manipur Clay Khongsai and other guests, dignitaries and villagers of the Makhao Area of Singngat assembly constituency.
The football ground, which was the only ‘international norms ground’ of the sub division having a length of 110 m by 75 m wide, was made from funds provided by the MLA at the tune of Rs 15 lakh with the grounds or space donated, free of cost by the chief of M Bongmol village Thokhojang Khongsai.
The function was attended by the MLA as chief guest, ADGP as guest of honour, special contractor P Tongthang as president and as chief host by former MDC Tongkai Baite. The president of MAYWO Holkhomang Baite thanked the chief guest for the financial support. The chief guest lauded Thokhojang Khongsai for donating the land.
