Champ Khagempalli posted 7 wickets win over Cyclone Thangmeiband in the 9th T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2022 played at Oriental College & Model Higher Secondary School Ground, Imphal West.
Cyclone batsman started off on a strong note with Rohindro getting 31 runs while Shyamsunder made 25 runs for the opening stand of 56 runs. However after their departure, wickets crumbled under pressure from the bowling attack of Champ, to put up 119 runs for 8 wickets from 20 overs.
Champ bowler Sanjoy was the chief wicket taker as he claimed 5 wickets while Sajan picked up 2 wickets and Mujibur fetched 1 wicket.
Chasing the target, Champ batsman reached the target in 17.3 overs losing 3 wickets in the process. Mujibur hit an unbeaten 40 runs while Sanjoy too remained not out with 51 runs and was later adjudged as the Man of the Match for his 5 wickets haul. Geet contributed 12 runs. Cyclone bowlers Ronel, Robindro and Iqbal claimed 1 wickets each.
