Bomb scare at Durand Cup venue: Detection squad, sniffer dog called in

A Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) team along with the sniffer dog carried out extensive search operations at the inner and outer areas of Khuman Lampak Main Stadium on Monday.

A team of Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), Manipur police along with a sniffer dog carried out extensive search operations at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, where the 131st Indian Oil Durand Cup, Group-C will be hosted, after state police received alerts of the presence of explosive materials at the site early Monday.   

As per sources, officer-in-charge of Imphal Police Station was given a tip-off by a reliable source about the presence of explosive materials at the Main Stadium. Upon receiving the information, a requisition to send a BDDS team and sniffer dog was sent to SP CID (Tech), sources said.

Afterwards, the BDDS team along with the sniffer dog carried out extensive search operations at the inner and outer areas of Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.  

The operation which began from 9 am lasted till 11.45 am. However, no such explosive materials were found during the entire operation, as per sources.
