25th Thangjam Birachandra-Maipakpi Memorial Winners' Cup: KSC Kangpokpi to face off with Pamyal Patsoi in final match

KSC Kangpokpi had no difficulty in taming XI Star Sporting Union, Akhampat by 4-0 goals in their second semi final.

KSC Kangpokpi will clash with Pamyal Patsoi in the final match of the 25th Thangjam Birachandra-Maipakpi Memorial Winners' Cup 2021-22 sponsored by Babina Healthcare and Hospitality Pvt. Ltd to be played on January 12 at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.

The KSC Kangpokpi had no difficulty in taming XI Star Sporting Union, Akhampat by 4-0 goals in their second semi final outing at the latter's home ground at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong. KSC in their first semi final at Kangpokpi ground had beaten XI Star SU by 2-1 goals, en-route to the final match.

The first half period of the game went goalless and KSC came alive in the second half with Solomon ruffling the net twice while Seiminhao and Robinson fetched one goal each for the victory today.

Three KSC players Michael, Seineo, Haokholen and XI Star players Pronokumar, Roshan and Bablu got yellow cards for rough play from referee Kh Ranjit.

In the other semi final, Pamyal Patsoi beat UBFC Ukhrul by 5-3 goals to book their final berth played later in the day at the same venue.

Halfway through the match, Pamyal Patsoi dominated the game as they lead on by 2-1 goals with Rojen Singh hammering home the two goals in 5th and 27th minute of play. As for UBFC team, Thotngavung fetched their opening goals in 30th minute.

Pamyal Patsoi ran havoc in the second half play as they struck at regular intervals with Rojen scoring another goal in 71st minute to bring up his hat trick goals while Rajkumar in 82nd minute and Suranjoy added the fifth goal in 90 plus 3rd minute.

Trying to catch up with its opponent's agility, YUFC managed two goals from Khangahmn in the 78th minute and Chrisdin Kanson in 90 minute, but not enough to save them.

Pamyal players Rebanta and Sekhar got yellow cards from referee N Ibungo for dangerous play.
