1st Premier League 2023-24: SSU Singjamei, Asufii FA Mao declared winners

Both teams will be recommended to AIFF for their inclusion in the 3rd Division Indian League, according to AMFA.

Southern Sporting Union, (SSU) Singjamei Kakwa and Asufii Football Academy, Mao have been declared joint winners of the 1st Premier League 2023-24.

Both teams will be recommended to AIFF for their inclusion in the 3rd Division Indian League, according to AMFA.

Both the teams will share the prize money of rupees 5 lakhs. Asufii FA agreed to collect Rupees 2 lakhs provided that they kept the Trophy in their custody for the first six month, while SSU received Rupees 3 lakhs and was happy with the arrangement.

It may be mentioned that the final match which was played yesterday at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong between SSU and Asufii FA was stopped and abandoned halfway through, taking into consideration the peoples hue and cry to the ongoing conflict in the state.

AMFA Secretary, L Jyotirmoy Roy said, showing solidarity to lost lives owing to the present conflict, the AMFA Executive Council has decided to bestow joint winners title to both the teams SSU and Asufii FA. Prize money will be shared by the teams and the trophy will be exchanged to each other's camps in a six months period, he stated.

In addition, both teams will be recommended for the 3rd Division I-League and the same has been intimated to the AIFF, he said. The AIFF will check whether each team fulfilled their criteria and conditions and will be acknowledged for their participation, he added.
