1st MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament: ESU Wangkhei lift Champion title

ESU Wangkhei Palace Compound lifted the Champion title, beating PTRC Patsoi by 22 runs.

ESU Wangkhei Palace Compound lifted the Champion title, beating PTRC Patsoi by 22 runs in the 1st MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament 2021-22 which was played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium Luwangsangbam.

Put into bat first, ESU batsman made a slow start with openers H Donba making 11 runs while M Amitkiyon got 12 runs, to manage123 runs for 10 wickets from 25 overs. Middle order batsman H Naoba Sharma and Bishomacha Kh contributed an identical 17 runs each.

PTRC bowlers Ngambarel N took 3 wickets while S Richie fetched 2 wickets and Henba Paonam got 1 wicket.

Chasing the target, PTRC batsmen made a cautious start with S Richie hitting 20 runs while Robinson got 17 runs, but once they departed wickets tumbles at regular intervals, to give them 101 runs for 9 wickets from 25 overs. Stoneson contributed 15 runs. ESU bowler N Kenedy claimed 4 wickets while H Donba, H Naoba got 2 wickets each.

ESU player N Kenedy was declared the Man of the Match for his 4 wickets haul and 14 runs knock. ESU Wangkhei was awarded Rs 25,000 along with Trophy as prize money while PTRC Patsoi got Rs 15,000 with Runners Up Trophy.

The MNCA also provided cash award to Bishomacha Kh of ESU as Highest Wicket Takers claiming 17 wickets from 6 innings, S Richie of PTRC for Highest Run Scorer with 394 runs from 7 innings, Most Emerging Player to Robinson S of PTRC, S Richie of PTRC with Man of Series for his 394 runs and 7 wickets haul and MPA Thounaojam team got the Most Fair Play award.
